Project Spotlight: Christ's Church of the Valley (CCV)
When the call came from renowned California architectural firm, Visioneering Studios, who were responsible for master-planning facilities for Disney, little did anyone guess that Gorski Engineering would soon be engaged in constructing a striking new home for the Christ's Church of the Valley (CCV) congregation, as part of their Build the Vision campaign.

Visioneering had laid the groundwork for a four building campus on the 18.9 acre parcel CCV purchased, but needed a local design-builder to make dream into reality. Gorski Engineering was given conceptual drawings and had less than two weeks to compile an approach and budget CCV could use to secure construction financing.
Setting Steel Pre-engineered shell Metal Framing
Having compiled an approach that could meet CCV budget and time expectations, Gorski Engineering forged ahead with construction documents and was soon constructing the new facility. The main structure is a 120' x 75' Butler pre-engineered building with a 24' eave height, allowing for portions of the building to have a future second level, while the foyer, canopy and "ticket booth" were conventionally constructed with structural steel and metal studs, for a total footprint of 9,300 square feet.
Typical Classroom Tech Booth Worship Space
Conventionally-framed accents are one component of a dramatic front elevation, which features split-faced architectural block, and an EIFS sheathing with colorful accents. The intent of the design was to emulate a movie theater, as the church had been meeting in a local movie house for several years. When the full campus vision is realized, this building will be dedicated as a children's facility. Bold color selections throughout and a stained concrete floor make the building interior as playful as the exterior.
The interior features a dramatic 3,900 square foot worship space with state of the art lighting and sound systems, as well as unseen acoustic treatments which segregate worship sound from the adjacent classrooms.
Phase Two of the building, which consists of upper level offices, an elevator and stair tower, was completed in early 2007.
