Project Spotlight: Nimlok Philadelphia
When Nimlok Philadelphia came to Gorski Engineering with their desire to find a new home for their rapidly growing trade show display company, the challenge was to create an attractive and functional facility that could house all aspects of Nimlok's business: design and development, product showroom and materials storage.

The site that Nimlok Philadelphia desired in the Iron Bridge Corporate Center housed an old livestock barn that could not be modified to meet modern code standards in a cost effective manner, so the decision was made to emulate the charm of the existing structure with a new 10,000 square foot building.
Pre-engineered shell Front wall framing Metal floor joists
Though the project utilizes a hybrid light gauge metal framing system, the main structure is a 125' x 80' Butler pre-engineered building with a clear span that requires no internal columns. The manufacturer's siding was used on three sides of the building, and the front facade is sheathed in a cementitious board siding that has a graining pattern, with a wood batten strip which emulates the old barn siding.
Front facade Front entrance Shipping/receiving
The entrance is a two-story conventionally-built structure that leads into a large lobby with an open feature stairway to the second level. The painted red roof with a 3" in 12" slope, a natural stone veneer, vinyl windows, wood trim and cupola were used to recall the style of the livestock barn. Passenger vehicle parking is partially obscured below grade, via the use of a retaining wall, and the truck maneuvering area is in the rear of the facility.
The interior features spacious offices, kitchen and conference areas, a vaulted lobby and a dramatic two-story showroom. This project was completed in less than five months.
