Project Spotlight: Select-A-Vision

Summer 2004 saw Gorski Engineering Inc. officially opening phase 3A of the Iron Bridge Corporate Center with the construction a 25,000 square foot office /warehouse facility for the premier discount eyewear dealer, Select-A-Vision.

Select-A-Vision not only required 3,000 square feet of office space, 3,000 square feet in second level storage, and 8,000 square feet in warehouse space for their own use, but also two 5,500 square foot areas for tenant occupation.  Gorski Engineering was able to design for all these requests, as well as provide parking and loading accommodations for multiple tenants on the same two-acre lot.

The building features a prominent entrance, an attractive stucco and split block facade, and two-story vertical windows that lend a sense of drama and presence to the structure.

^{The main structure is a pre-engineered building by Butler Manufacturing; the glass foyer is traditionally-built, utilizing metal studs, storefront windows and tinted glazing.}

^{The facility was designed for the office to be expanded into the second level as Select-A-Vision grows.  The elevator pit was even installed so as to minimize disturbance for the planned expansion.}

^{Saw-tooth loading docks were utilized to allow for three separate loading areas, in addition to the two drive-in doors that were also provided.}

^{The warehouse features a block wainscot, a Butler standing-seam metal roofing system, complete with skylights and ample lighting, to make for a comfortable as well as efficient work space.}
